I’ll be more than gone tomorrow. Field trainings, strict discipline, topography, military briefing is what all this army life is about. We’re traveling to the mountains tomorrow in the early morning, and we’ll be there for five days, starting from tomorrow until Friday evening. Soldiers from Switzerland will be lecturing and training me and my colleagues.
I just thought it’s worth letting everyone know that I won’t be able to post until then, although a lot of stuff will be going on during the week, but I’ll try to cover it when I return.
Things that you should expect from me for this week: On Saturday 9th Episode of HelixTECH, public release of my first WordPress theme iPad, new web projects and more small tweaks I hope.
Untill Friday, I wish everyone a very precious time, nice events and I will miss y’ all.
I just received an email from the manager of Ogilvy saying that I have been accepted for the web-developer job post, but he mentioned that first I must go through a testing phase to make sure that I am able to perform things they ask me to, as well as see if my work time is convenient for them.
Here’s the original version of the letter:
Hi Arian:
Thank you for coming to the office.
We decided to take you for a two weeks test here in the office to see from near how you work and how will function the time issue.
Next week I’m on a 1 week journey. I’ll get back here on 3rd of February and I’ll contact you for further details.
Regards.

The letter was in Albanian of course but I translated it. Finally all what’s let to say is I wanna thank Valon, I appreciate his kindness, I cannot wait until he returns.
I really want that job, more for fun than for money, I seriously need to pass somehow those boring morning hours at the academy, God I hate that.
Anyway, God knows what’s best for everyone, and I think He made me aware that this job is good for me
.
Till laterz.

I’m a little excited today, went through my first job interview, it’s amazing though.
Ogilvy is a world-wide well known company, I actually didn’t hear about it before, but now it came up I have a big opportunity in front of me. Whereas I’m located in Kosova, south-east Europe, Ogilvy seems to has its own branches all over the world, fortunately for me, Kosova is one of those honored ones. Therefore the Ogilvy official branch here in Prishtina OgilvyKS, a job position was open for a web developer. A friend of mine told me about it to whom I’m very grateful for, and luckily he has good partnership with the manager, so he arranged me an appointment. An offer I couldn’t refuse. But as far as I’m a Military cadet, firstly I was afraid I cannot afford to get this post, but my superior Captain expressed him self very kindly today, and he was very open-minded, so he allowed me to.
First interview just went perfect, the manager was astonished by my experience and portfolio, so seems fate (which I don’t believe in to) is on my side I guess and I’ll just sit here and wait until he contacts me to congratulate I hope. I really want that big time, and I yet don’t know why so much?!
I’m gonna sleep smoothly tonight, and wait for the ‘tomorrow is a big day’, and meantime before going to sleep I have to deal with my first Wordpress theme sidebar issue I’m barely managing to fix.
Ne episodin e shtate te emisionit HelixTECH, une se bashku me Jetonin dhe Muhamerin diskutuam per lajmet e fundit ne IT, permendem largimin Bill Gates si president i Microsoft, permendem 14 vjecarin i cili morri kontroll mbi stacionin hekurudhor, Sony leshon DRM (Digital Rights Management) per MP3 fajllat e vet, WikiMedia leshon WikiaSearch konkurrentin e vet kundrejt Google Search, Microsoft deshiron ta blej LogiTech, Sun Microsystems e blen ne anen tjeter MySQL, po ashtu kishte edhe risi nga lemija e Hardware, JVC prodhon kujet e para nga druri, ASUS laptopat me CASCO sigurim, Tata Nano kerri me i lire ne bote, perderisa Buggati Lydia me i shtrenjti, spameret gjejne nje menyre tjeter per te derguar spam, dhe ne fund te emisionit une elaborova mbi Windows File Systems: NTFS; FAT32 dhe FAT16.
I just wonder if it’s about the weather or my Vista Ultimate wasn’t simply in good mood. No matter what the reasons would be, I had to wait today nearly 2 hours to copy 8 movie files of 5.36Gb from my laptop to my external hard drive via USB2.0 port.
I began copying the files at 09:11AM, exactly one hour later at 10:10AM I returned to my room and I got astonished by this

Like only 50% of it all has been completed, whoa, now that’s “fast”. Kinda disappointing right, but hey, what can we do? Pretty much nothing I can assure you.
Our eyes yet remain on SP1, basically we have to wait until February to get that final version of Service Pack 1, and very seriously I hope that it will increase this performance.
For your curiosity the whole file process finished at exactly 10:46AM.
Update: don’t blame the port because I know it works just fine, this happened only today, usually it works smoothly.
