Lucky me, I know the Flickr team! April 10th, 2008
As the clock ticks more and more Flickr haters are joining anti-Flickr groups, and deep disappointment is being widely spread. I’m closely following every possible discussion and comment from everyone, trying to not let the most interesting moment pass unnoticed, therefor yet another step of mine getting to know with faces, the geeks who stood behind all this recently created mess. They seem to be pretty much unconcerned about the fact they’ve waged a war withing their community, separating users in two different groups with opposite ideas. Whereas still finding enough time to express their inner part of comics. Another new promotive video from Heather Champ.
I’d be glad to hear your thoughts on this.
Update: after totally two days we’re getting the first response from Heather directing to all members but mainly critics in particular, read the first part here followed by the second part here.
Eventually we can conclude that despite of all user complains about implementing video in Flickr, again the final word is from the staff, hence each of us should reconsider our roads before taking a decision, whether agreeing to accept Flickr as it’s going to be in the future or find a new alternative to substitute Flickr’s position in our hearts.
Update: things have already taken a different direction, reading comments on various discussions I’ve seen people finding explicit content that either exists or is being uploaded on Flickr, let that be photos or videos. Flickr has changed. And that badly!!!
P.S. for the sake of purity of iTechnologize, the respect to you as a the reader and staying away from profanity I’ll not provide any links of those resources.
